Epic Staring Contest Won by Puppy in 12th Round
Charlie, a two-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, prevailed in the finals of the 102nd annual Texas State Interspecies Staring Championships on Saturday. Charlie won on points after a grueling 12-round bout against defending champion, Norman the Turtle. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” said one awed spectator after the match. "That dog must have ice in his veins.“

Tapirs Drop Name Change Petition After Court Setback
Tapirs at the Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire, England have dropped their four-year battle to officially change their species name from “tapirs” to the more descriptive “really big awesome pig-like things.” District court judge Alistair Templeton threw out the petition for name change after several failed appeals.
A spokesperson for the tapirs said that this was the group’s last attempt.
