Ferret Lattes Are Big Business for Starbucks

Ferret Lattes Are Big Business for Starbucks

Businessweek reports some new ferret lifestyle trends with implications for luxury brands – chiefly Starbucks, whose lattes have proven irresistible to the fidgety patrons.

“The last five years have seen an explosion of middle and upper-middle class ferrets,” writes Carrie Dell. “And they can’t get enough Starbucks. Don’t be surprised if you start seeing tiny tables and chairs in your local coffee house.”

Otter Votes, Takes Rest of the Day Off

Sam, a local sea otter, decided to blow the rest of the work day off after doing his civic duty and voting on Tuesday morning.

“He called the office saying he had a sprained ankle,” says Kelly Philip, the greeter at Linens N’ Things where Sam works as a sales associate. “But he didn’t sound hurt to me.”

SCIENCE FACT: Giraffes Know the Weather Before Other Animals

According to scientists at the Birmingham Zoo in Birmingham, AL, giraffes do in fact know about the weather before most other flightless creatures in the animal kingdom.

“Owing to their extreme height, giraffes actually tend to get a slight heads up – if you’ll pardon my pun – about impending weather events,” said zoologist Wayne Hsieh.  "But we’re talking nanoseconds here.  It’s really negligible.“
