Developmental psychologists have long been fascinated by the behavioral similarities of twins. But a pair of cats from one litter has researchers confounded.
Foo and Pearl of Portland, OR are so alike, they are in fact mirror images of one another. Every motion, from enjoying a morning meal to curling up for a nap, is mimicked simultaneously by the other.
Researchers are still unsure if one cat is taking the lead (the Alpha cat, as one psychologist puts it), or if their mirrored movements are the result of some shared consciousness.
