Little Rat Attempts Daring Christmas Escape

Officials are reporting that a rat named Troy (pictured above) attempted a high-flying escape from his Oakland, CA home during the Christmas break. Sources close to the situation speculate he was spooked by Santa.

“He knows a loud, red man parks on the roof and comes down the chimney, but he doesn’t know that’s a good thing,” Natalie Ware tells The Fluffington Post.

Hedgehog Literacy on the Rise Thanks to School Initiative

A new push from the Department of Education to improve hedgehog reading scores has had measurable positive results, according to government officials. Teachers from Washington, DC to North Carolina have also noted a small, but important uptick in hedgehog test scores, though opponents of the initiative claim it is too early to tell whether it will have any lasting impact on hedgehog education.

Once thought to be a casual observance in piggie culture, new surveys reveal that one in three guinea pigs are seriously into Christmas, with the numbers skewing even higher for young pigs.
