Guinea Pig Wins iPhone Photography Award
High-end photo sharing site 500px has announced the winners of its first-ever iPhone Photography Contest. The winner in the photojournalism category was Carabelle, a guinea pig, for her series documenting living conditions insider her cage.
How did a guinea pig manage to win such a prestigious award?
“Well, let’s be clear here. Carabelle won in the guinea pig division,” said 500px communications director, Jennifer Lee. “There were only like 3 entries. Most guinea pigs have no idea how to use an iPhone camera. In retrospect, it was kind of silly for us to have an entire section of the contest for them.”

Guinea Pig Celebrates Birthday With a Salad
What’s the best way to celebrate your 3rd birthday? If you’re a guinea pig, you munch on a great big parsley and cucumber salad.
That’s exactly what Malcolm, pictured above left, a guinea pig from Scotland did on his recent birthday.
“And he loved it!” reported friend Camille Preston. “Salads are his favorite, so it’s really not a party without one.”
Next year, Mal is supposedly considering adding red peppers to the menu.

Guinea Pig Builds Own Gaming PC
Florida guinea pig Max isn’t content to purchase his computers off the shelf or from a website. The tech hobbyist likes to build his towers from scratch using the best parts he can buy and afford. Why?
“Mostly for gaming,” says friend and fellow PC builder Jonathan Tegan. “His current PC is a pretty sweet rig: NVidia graphics, 8 gigs of RAM, quad-core processor. He spent a little money on this one.”
But on average, Max ends up saving about $800 by purchasing individual components online, rather than a retail machine. So what does the piggie play when his rig is up and running?
“Mostly Minesweeper,” says Tegan. “You obviously don’t need a dedicated graphics card for a dumb game like that. But I know Max likes to have power under the hood, just in case.”

Guinea Pig Decides to Order In
According to reports, Urkel the guinea pig is planning to spend a quiet evening at home and order take-out, rather than go to the club with his friends.
“He decided to just take it easy, order some lettuce from his favorite salad delivery joint and maybe watch some Bones on Netflix,” said roommate Candace Meloy. “He’s just kind of outgrowing the party scene. This is more his speed.”

Guinea Pig Wins Homemade Taco Competition
An area guinea pig named Nacho has won a national homemade taco competition run by the Food Network.  His recipe for a bacon, lettuce and tomato taco won raves among judges and will be featured in an upcoming Food Network cookbook.
“Everyone loves bacon, so putting bacon in was almost like cheating. It’s like putting truffle oil on something,” explained judge and Food Network producer Wiley Kinnis. “So we probably actually judged Nacho’s entry harder than the others.”
But Kinnis said that Nacho really knocked it out of the park with his chipotle aioli.
“Man the [expletive] aioli,” he said. “I still have dreams about it.”

REPORT: Guinea Pigs Engaging In Insider Trading
By Scott Friedstein, FluffPo Correspondent
According to a report filed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, guinea pigs have been knowingly participating in insider trading in a brazen attempt to make a profit. The report cited several prominent guinea pig investors who have engaged in suspicious stock activity as of late.
“There was a massive sell-off of PiggyCorp stock right before it went under,” says SEC spokesman Paul Cohen. “Guinea pigs are cute, but that can’t be a coincidence. We have every reason to believe that the PiggyCorp liquidation was an inside job. And as for the piggies who profited — well, let’s just say their days are numbered.”

Guinea Pig Refuses to Acknowledge that Halloween Is Over
Brownie the guinea pig loves Halloween. That’s why she is refusing to let it die.  According to reports from those close to the situation, the guinea pig has barricaded herself inside a disused Jack’o’lantern and refuses to leave until everyone puts their costumes back on.
“This happens every year,” said neighbor Troy Wilkins.  ”It’s a month of Brownie running around her yard like a nut putting up decorations, a day of absolute joy, then out comes the pumpkin and in she goes.”
According to Wilkins Brownie will eventually admit that Halloween is over and end her protest.

Guinea Pig Finally Caught Up on Downton Abbey
An area guinea pig named Sushi has finally caught up on the first two seasons of Downton Abbey in preparation for season three to begin airing in the United States in January. He’ll spend the next month and a half preparing his themed viewing party.
“I know it seems like there’s still plenty of time to finish catching up, especially since the seasons are so short,” said close friend Tim Cheshire, “but Sushi really wants to get the decor for his party perfect.  He’s planning to recreate the entire household as it appeared in the final episode, down the last detail.  So he needs the extra time to do a thorough study of season two.”
