Hamster Invents Dance Craze
“The Murray,” a new dance invented by namesake Murray the hamster, is sweeping the nation. From clubs to classrooms, from The Today Show to YouTube, the Murray is reportedly the hottest new dance craze and everyone is doing it.
When video of Murray performing his now signature dance gyrations first surfaced on the Internet last year, it didn’t go very far. But after late night comedian Jimmy Kimmel aired the video on his show last month, things really took off.
“Life has certainly changed for Murray,” said close friend Anita Roth. ”He’s getting calls daily from reporters all over the world, invited to perform on TV… It’s nuts. He’s going to be on Ellen next week!”
Internet historians say they haven’t seen anything like this since the “Hamster Dance” of the mid-90s.
