Players, coaches and fans alike have expressed their outrage over the mediocre officiating by replacement referees, and the situation has become nothing short of an embarrassment for the league. Chippy, however, is just concerned about the bottom line. The local bunny is reportedly worried about the lockout’s ultimate effect on the NFL, purely from a business standpoint. “He’s concerned over the long-term implications of the lockout, and what it means for the league fiscally,” says Terence Hough, a spokesperson for the bunny. “He’s also unsure of union regulations and the place they have within the current NFL business model. The referee’s union and the owners both want something out of this. He’s hoping labor negotiations produce a beneficial resolution for both sides.
