Cat Supports Creation of U.S. Pirate Party
A politically-minded cat living in Brooklyn, NY named Winston has voiced his support for establishing a Pirate Party in the United States. The designation used by a number of upstart political parties, which tend to stand for the ideals of free sharing of information, data privacy, direct democracy and civil rights, that have been catching on in many countries across Europe, most notably Sweden and Germany.
Though a Pirate Party does already exist in the United States, Winston feels now is the time to kick it into high gear.
“The party holds no seats in congress right now at a national level, has no judicial appointments, and isn’t running anyone for president,” said Lars Rodriguez, a close friend of Winston. ”It’s time to start seriously running some candidates. Winston is ready to pound the pavement in support.”
