Prairie Dog First Date Ends in Embarrassment
by Scott Friedstein, FluffPo Correspondent
Frank was never one for romance - that is, until he met Leila.
"He’s a bit of a workaholic, and it’s just him in his burrow right now," says Ryan Bing, a friend. "It took some prodding, but he finally fired up his old OkCupid account a few weeks ago. They randomly just started chatting."
The two hit it off so well that they decided to meet last Friday.
"Frank was a bit apprehensive, but they ended up having a really nice time," says Bing. "He took her to dinner at this new Thai fusion place, and then they went up to the lookout point to check out the stars."
The evening had gone off without a hitch - until the time came for the pair to say goodnight.
"He went in for the kiss, and apparently she was just going for a hug," says Bing. "They bonked heads, and is was really embarrassing - he could barely muster a ‘bye.’ He’s a bit down right now, but he’ll get back on the horse - or whatever the appropriate prairie dog saying is."

Puppy Experiences Serious World Cup Withdrawal
By Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
The world’s sports fans enjoyed an exciting summer of World Cup action, but now that the final goal has been scored, many are reporting withdrawal symptoms. For a closer look at this phenomenon, FluffPo profiled soccer hound Max of Arlington, VA.
“Max was really pulling for Brazil,” owner Lisa Rodriguez said. “But at the end of the day, it was all about good matches and great playing, so he was fine with the way things turned out.”
After the final goal, though, Max seemed unsure how to spend his time. Rodriguez explained his strange behavior.
“Now he’s just listlessly pushing his soccer ball around the backyard,” she said. “Sometimes he stares at the TV even when it’s not on. I’m really worried about him.”
Veterinarian Eric Gladwell said that many pet owners have told him sob stories about depressed dogs in the days following the World Cup’s end. He recommended shifting puppies’ focus to other sports, keeping them active and excited about physical activities.
“Every little bit of exposure to other sports will lessen the soccer obsession,” he said. “Go outside with a frisbee. Toss a tennis ball around. If it’s really bad, turn on the Golf Channel.”

Cat’s Home Repair Project Goes Horribly Wrong
By Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
After being asked dozens of times to fix the running toilet, Rex was sure that he knew what to do. But even with the help of his human friend, the project quickly snowballed into a much bigger problem.
“I had a bad feeling about it from the very beginning,” Marty Maxwell said. “He was all, ‘Trust me, I asked Reddit what to do!’ Well look what you’ve done, Reddit.”
Maxwell was reluctant to share the details of exactly where things went south with the repair job.
“I don’t even know what happened,” he said. “Rex was fiddling around with a wrench and suddenly there was water all over the floor. Next thing I know, he’s fallen into the bowl and is yowling for me to call 911 or a plumber.”
When Rex posted his ordeal to the Reddit forums and berated the people whose advice led him astray, he was instantly upvoted to the front page. Maxwell said he suspected it was the above photo that catapulted him to the sudden popularity.

Dachshund ‘Shamed’ on Internet
By Scott Friendstein, FluffPo Correspondent
Barry the dog will probably think twice before falling asleep at a party again.
Friends tell The Fluffington Post that the dachshund was at a gathering last weekend when he apparently could not stay awake.
"He got into the kibble pretty early on," says Kirk Evans. "We told him to slow it down, but he didn’t listen. He was out before 10 pm - poor little guy.”
Poor indeed. Unfortunately for Barry, his friends took complete advantage of the situation and decided to “shame” him.
"Some of the other guys got the idea to find the most embarrassing-looking sheets and tuck him into bed," says Evans. "Then, of course, we took a picture. It was too funny not to share with everyone - so we did."
Evans certainly meant “everyone” - by the next morning, the pup had gone viral online.
"Those sheets are probably as famous as he is now," says Evans. "He hasn’t returned any of my texts, but he’ll come around - I hope."

Samoyed Puppy Was Born to Model
by Anna Washenko, FluffPo Correspondent
From the day he was born, Zeke seemed to have a natural understanding of his best angles. As he’s grown up, he developed a sixth sense for finding the camera and the light. Friend Natalie Brown showed The Fluffington Post her home photos of Zeke and his puppy siblings. In every shot, he’s flashing a dazzling samoyed smile to the camera, even when the other dogs are oblivious to the attention.
Brown said she noticed Zeke’s photogenic nature right away. “He’s from a litter of five, but even when he was a tiny puppy, he stood out from the pack,” she said. “He’s got that magical X factor.”
In fact, Brown thinks Zeke has the natural talent to make it big time. “I sent a headshot to Tyra Banks,” she said. “I mean, he’s got her ‘smile with your eyes’ thing down to a science.”
In FluffPo’s editorial opinion, we would be much more inclined to watch the fierceness of America’s Next Top Poodle rather than the human show currently on air.
